Bengel & Zaek: sweet life

The Tillypad XL hospitality management system is a recipe for success at the Bengel & Zaek restaurant & pastry shop.
This stylish eatery has recently appeared in the Mertens House in St Petersburg as a result of a project implemented by the PSK Holding company, which was also behind such well-known establishments as Dve Palochki, Marcelli’s, Tao, WOK café MyBox, CafePeople and Dlinny Khvost. Their new undertaking combines a mixed-cuisine restaurant and a pastry shop in one location.
Bengel & Zaek occupies two floors. Its large display window facing Nevsky prospect attracts passers-by. Through the window one can sense the appealing atmosphere within, as well as seeing a wide array of tasty-looking sweets. The visitor opens a heavy iron door and enters the cafe, where desserts and pastries are served. By the way, the entrance door, the iron blinds and the fountain in the inner courtyard are elements of the original interior, but they go surprisingly well with the eclectic new furnishings of the restaurant. You can go up to the second floor and find the restaurant serving Asian, Italian and other European dishes.
Restaurateurs from PSK Holding have a remarkable record in the restaurant business. They have opened many popular sites, and this time they have decided to accentuate the "sweet" component in their successful formula. That's why they've recuited Philipp Blondue, a Swiss pâtissier, who will develop new recipes, while a specially-trained team under the supervision of Alexandre Perrin will make pastries, desserts and other baked goods. A Frenchman by birth, Perrin was formerly a pastry chef in the miX restaurant opened by Alain Ducasse at the W St. Petersburg hotel.
All the projects undertaken by the PSK Holding are characterised by their  professionalism. The company is also distinguished by its careful choice of partners. Therefore, to optimise efficiency at Bengel & Zaek, PSK has chosen the Tillypad XL hospitality management system – which is installed in all their locations. Over six years of cooperation between the two companies, the Tillypad XL system has proven reliable and efficient, both for non-chain restaurants (such as the well-known Tao) and for major restaurant chains like Dve Palochki.
The Tillypad XL system enables the management to monitor the operation of each location closely, as well as supervising all activities including staff work, inventory accounting, serving customers and implementing loyalty programs. The Tillypad XL system maximizes management efficiency and boosts the profits of any restaurant or café.
