Tillypad is pleased to announce that its UK operation has moved to a new office at Baskerville House, Centenary Square, Birmingham, B1 2ND. The telephone number has also changed: +44 (0) 121 503 2277.
Baskerville House is one of the most beautiful buildings in Birmingham and noted place of interest. It is named after a printer and typographer John Baskerville, who created the Baskerville type font in the middle of 18th century. He spent many years working on this font, which is widely known and still widely today.
As a memorial to his work there is a monument in front of building named Industry and Genius: six printed forms made of stone with letters which are formed in the name, ‘Virgilii’. Virgil’s works became the first book published by Baskerville using his new font.
Before the reconstruction, which took place in 2003-2007, Baskerville House was the home of the City Council. This reconstruction added two floors of glass and steel to the building, but it has retained its elegance, becoming a spectacular modern business centre with an area of over 2,500 square meters. And today, the Tillypad company is pleased to welcome partners to this new office, whose comfort, beauty and convenient location will make our collaboration more comfortable and fruitful.
